Cookout time !

 

Cookouts are a favorite summer time past time.  It is important to remember though not to let food sit out in unsafe conditions.  About 48 million people get sick from food borne illnesses each year.  But there are a few easy steps that you can take to prevent this from happening at your events! Always wash hands and surfaces before and after handling raw foods and make sure to cook them to the right temperature.  Food that is left out needs to be properly chilled or kept warm to prevent bacteria from growing.  Finally, don’t let any raw meats or eggs come in contact with ready to eat foods to prevent the spread of bacteria.
